RYA VHF/DSC radio course (including GMDSS)


THE NEED FOR RADIO DISCIPLINE

There are hundreds of thousands of Marine Band Radios world wide, It is therefore essential to obtain VHF/DSC radio training by attending a RYA approved marine radio course.

The RYA VHF courses include:
  • Digital Distress and Safety Calling
  • Intership procedures
  • Port operations
  • Routine communications

All VHF training courses are run at our specialised RYA Recognised Training Centre using actual VHF/DSC simulators allowing you to practise real procdures.

  • Licensing and operating requirements
  • Global Maritime Distress & Safety System
  • Distress
  • Safety
  • Phonetic alphabet
  • Equipment and installation

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

Please bring with you:
  • Examination fee cheque for £25.00. made payable to RYA
  • 1 Passport-size photograph
  • G22 and G26 RYA booklets (available through NSY)
  • A knowledge of the Phonetic alphabet is a help.

    VHF GMDSS (VHF resticted/conversion to GMDSS) half day £59 + Exam fee

    Exam fees for both options are £30.00 and cheques should be made payable to RYA
